Spare Our Planet Program Coordinator, Business Development

The Spare Our Planet Program Coordinator will join a cross-functional team charged with the development of Go Green Foundation’s premiere program, Spare Our Planet. Reporting to and working closely with the executive staff, marketing communications, and information technology teams. The Program Coordinator will play a major role in a diversity of tasks, including, partnership development and management; marketing; media outreach; and supporting senior staff to develop creative ways to promote and market the organization’s program using business development and relationship management communication skills, social media and networking skills.

The Spare Our Planet Program Coordinator will work closely with the executive staff to develop and manage a national and regional ecosystem of youth environmental advocacy partners, and corporate sponsors to support the Go Green Challenge campaign, a nationwide, grassroots youth movement. The Go Green Challenge campaign will initially launch friendly carbon‐reduction competitions in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City, and expand to over 30 additional markets with the goal to have 2 million young people (14-22) participate in the Spare Our Planet Program by 2012. This role presents an excellent opportunity to build project management, business development, communication, and campaign planning skills.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  •  Outreach to national and regional youth environmental advocacy organizations and corporate sponsors
  • Secure youth environmental advocacy partners and corporate sponsors (with a proven commitment to sustainability) to support the Go Green Challenge campaign
  • Act as the main point of contact for national and regional youth environmental advocacy organizations, corporate sponsors prior to, during, and conclusion of the Spare Our Planet Program implementations
  • Providing world-class partnership experience through excellent project management, relationship management, and communications skills
  • Coordinate logistics between, partners, and sponsors
  • Coordinate company outreach with a local team of Go Green Foundation members in key markets
  • Coordinate with GGF technology, web development, and marketing communications teams to showcase the Spare Our Planet progress
  • Developing strong working relationships with national, regional and local school community -based volunteer staff, and other internal or external stakeholders
  • Coordinating the operations related to the planning and execution of the Go Green Challenge campaign and the Spare Our Planet Program Platform
  • Managing administrative processes that apply to school community-based volunteer staff including, but not limited to, enrollment in the Spare Our Planet Program
  • Maintaining and improving upon the processes and Spare Our Planet Program Technology Platform used to facilitate program participation, monitoring, and tracking
  • Fielding routine and high-level inquiries from student volunteers and educators (phone, email, walk-in)
  • Communicating directly with student volunteers and educator regarding Spare Our Planet Program updates and requirements through email, and newsletters
  • Maintaining accurate student leader and educator files and records (both paper and electronic)
  • Assisting in the coordination of training events
  • Delivering occasional presentations to student volunteers, educators, and school community-based executive staff about the Spare Our Planet Program
  • Maintain and improve upon the processes and technology used to facilitate student volunteer applications and tracking
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking student volunteer retention, succession planning, and other relevant program data
  • Manage and organize various data collection efforts essential to the successful implementation of the screening process for Spare Our Planet Program volunteer leaders 

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree and minimum of 1-2 years professional experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; confident and articulate when speaking by phone or in person
  • Experience building relationships with external constituents; business development or direct sales experience a plus
  • Detail-oriented: highly organized, maintain high standards of excellence with all work
  • Flexibility and comfort with managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Outstanding organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
  • Tech savvy: Experience using Apple OS and facility with Microsoft Office product suite; customer relationship management systems; presentation skills and tools, such as PowerPoint; social media and networking tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and approach problems creativel

Technical Program Coordinator

 

Go Green Foundation leverages web sites, social media and a powerful competition platform in its environmental initiatives.  This role focuses on the management of all of the underlying technology for Go Green Foundation's initiatives, including web servers, Ruby on Rails applications, mobile applications and interaction with social media such as Facebook and Twitter.   Our ideal candidate will have experience managing a development team and web designers, coordinating with remote contractors and working closely with an executive team and users to provide world-class experience to best address technology needs.  A proven track record of delivering projects on-time and under-budget is a must.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Software development management experience (2+ years)
  • Project management experience (2+ years)
  • Ruby on Rails experience (2+ years)
  • MySQL, Html, CSS, Javascript experience
  • Experience coding and delivering scalable, fault-tolerant applications in RoR.
  • Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and/or Android a big plus

Finance and Operations Coordinator


Go Green Foundation is seeking a Finance and Operations Coordinator who will be responsible for: the accounting operations; maintaining the ongoing integrity of its financial records; and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. The Finance and Operations Coordinator responsibilities include: development and oversight of budgets for multiple program components and funding sources; provides budgetary support to executive staff; prepares projections/forecasts/financial reports/analyses; performs year-end closings, and monthly bank reconciliations; maximizes use of technology, serving as a resource to executive staff to improve efficiencies.

The Finance and Operations Coordinator is responsible for the success of the Go Green Foundation (GGF) programs’ logistics and operations. The Finance and Operations Coordinator will coordinate key functions within the GGF program platform to ensure high program quality and customer service.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of related finance and operations experience preferably in a non-profit organization; strong planning and leadership skills; grant accounting experience; strong analytical, problem solving, and reporting skills.
